The Power of Positive Affirmations

Updated: Apr 20, 2021

According to researchers, spending just a few minutes daily reaffirming positive affirmation about yourself during a high-pressure situation like pregnancy, childbirth, or even – postpartum for example – can calm your nerves, increase your confidence, improve your chances of a positive childbirth experience and lead to an overall productive lifestyle.

Imagine buying a new custom-made, state-of-the-art laptop. It is one of a kind. You fill it with lots of free or cheap software and apps you bought. The others were given by friends, family, and even strangers.

The software starts to corrupt your really expensive, custom-made laptop. What do you do?

Sadly, we do this with our minds on a daily basis. We limit our potential and stifle any joy or true happiness. and you truly deserve better.

Self-affirmation helps you to mitigate the effects of anxiety. In one study, a short affirmation exercise boosted the self-confidence of "chronically stressed" subjects to the same level as those with low stress.

This study suggests that a stronger sense of self-worth makes you more likely to improve your own well-being. So, for example, if you are the couple trying to conceive or the new mums “struggling” with the translation to parenthood, or just the seasoned parents who feel like you are failing your child using affirmations to remind yourself of your values can spur you on to change your behavior toward yourself and make you appreciate yourself better.
